What this website and my app handle, where it is kept, who helps me run them, and the rights you have if you get in touch.
Who I am
HWD Print Studio is my small art and print studio. This website and the HWD Print Studio desktop app are run by Bethany Attwood, trading as HWD Print Studio, a sole trader in the United Kingdom, who is the data controller for the information described here. Contact: contact@hwdprintstudio.com.
What this policy covers
The website at https://hwdprintstudio.com and the HWD Print Studio desktop app. The app is a personal tool that only I use. It is not sold or offered to anyone, and the only Pinterest account it connects to is my own.
Visitors to this website
The website only gives information. It has no sign-in, sets no cookies, and uses no analytics or advertising tools, so I collect nothing about you when you visit.
- Hosting logs. The website's host (Vercel) keeps technical logs such as IP addresses and request times, for security and fault-finding, for its own short retention period.
- If you email me. I use your email address and what you write only to reply, and keep it only as long as needed to do that.
Pinterest data the app handles
The app uses the official Pinterest API, connected to my own account through Pinterest's sign-in and consent screen. It never sees or stores the password. It handles:
- My account ID and username, basic profile details such as account type and profile picture, and my account's statistics (
user_accounts:read). - Access and refresh tokens that Pinterest issues when I allow access.
- My boards: names and IDs (
boards:read), and any board I ask the app to create (boards:write). - Pins I create: the image, title, description, alt text, link and board of each one, and its ID once published, so the app can confirm it went up (
pins:read, pins:write). - Statistics for my own Pins and account, such as impressions, saves and clicks, read from Pinterest so the app can show me how my Pins are doing (
pins:read,user_accounts:read).
Drafts stay on my own computer. When I approve a Pin, its image and text are passed through the app's backend to Pinterest to be published. The app does not read anyone else's boards, Pins or account, and this data is used for nothing other than creating and publishing my own Pins and seeing how they do.
Where it is kept
- Supabase, in EU (London), runs the app's backend. It holds the Pinterest tokens encrypted, passes the Pins I approve to Pinterest, and stores daily snapshots of the statistics for my Pins and account. The tokens are deleted when I disconnect. The desktop app keeps a copy of the statistics on my computer to show them.
- Vercel hosts this website.
I do not sell, rent or share data with anyone. Some providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long it is kept
- Pinterest tokens: while the app is connected. They are deleted on disconnect.
- Records of Pins published through the app: while the app is connected, and deleted within 30 days of disconnecting.
- Statistics for my Pins and account: while the app is connected, and deleted within 30 days of disconnecting.
- Emails: as long as needed to reply.
Pins already published stay on Pinterest until they are deleted there.
Security
All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Tokens are encrypted at rest. The app's Pinterest secret stays on the backend and is never stored in the desktop app, and only I can access the backend.
Legal basis
I handle the emails you send me to answer them (legitimate interests), and keep the website and backend secure for the same reason.
Your rights
If you have contacted me, under UK GDPR you can ask to see the personal data I hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how I use it, and to receive a copy of it. Email contact@hwdprintstudio.com with the subject “Privacy request”. I reply within one month and complete any deletion within 30 days.
If you are unhappy with how I handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. I would be grateful for the chance to put things right first.
Children
This website is not intended for anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, I update the date at the top.
